Event Details

PRESENTER: Dr. Erik Sahl, DDS, MSD, Periodontist, Loma Linda, California

Dental implant therapy has become the standard of care for replacing missing teeth in our patients today. As treatment planning becomes more prosthetically driven, it is vital to understand the limitation of the underlying bony anatomy. Many times, there is insufficient bony width and/or height to facilitate the implant placement at the proper prosthetic location. The attendee of this presentation will feel confident in:

  • Diagnosing insufficient bony anatomy of edentulous ridges.
  • Having an overall understanding of the requirements for dental implant placement.
  • Knowing the evidence-based solutions available for augmenting the edentulous ridge.
  • Advising patients on the limitations of ridge augmentation procedures and providing a realistic expectation, treatment plan, as well as surgical/prosthetic options.
